Why do you want to be a tutor?
- I enjoy teaching and helping students understand a subject. With younger students, I also enjoy the energy they have while older students are a pleasure to get to know.
Why should a student pick you?
- I am an experienced and professional tutor that works with students according to their style of learning. I make learning fun for younger students with stories and games, and older students are able to direct the lessons in the direction that best addresses their needs.
Personal Statement:
- I have been tutoring for two and a half years one-on-one. Before that, I tutored small groups of elementary kids for a year as a Bilingual Teaching Assistant. I also taught Spanish 101 for two years as a Teaching Assistant at the University of Wisconsin, Madison. I have an MA in Spanish and a BA in Literature, so Spanish tutoring and English/Writing lessons are my forte. However, from experience and undergraduate coursework, I am also qualified to tutor high school Biology and History. My students in those areas, as well as my Spanish/English students, were very satisfied with my services. I enjoy working with not only the students but also their families, and I develop very cordial relationships with them. I would love to meet you and form a tutoring partnership to help your child achieve success in school.
