When our tutors were asked the following questions, this is how they responded:
- Hobbies:
- Teaching, Yoga, Meditation, Reading, Writing, Traveling
Why do you want to be a tutor?
- I love working with young people. Because I am developing a school in India, it will be especially nice to continue working with kids while I make plans for how I will serve children during my life. I believe in the importance of education to solve many personal and world problems.
Why should a student pick you?
- I'm really patient, understanding and compassionate. I love working with young people and can remember what it was like to have to struggle to do well in school myself. I help students with their work, but also to develop the study skills and self-confidence to be able to succeed on your own. I also make learning fun!
Personal Statement:
- 'Be the change you wish to see in the world.' - Gandhi
Having spent six months volunteering at Gandhi's Ashram in India, I truly believe in his famous phrase. As a yoga teacher and meditator, I highly value self-reflection and inner growth as a way to contribute to changing the outer world. I also think a big part of changing yourself has to do with attitude, which is also essential to succeeding in school. Believing you can achieve something is just as important as having the ability to do so.
