Why do you want to be a tutor?
- I love working with children, watching them grow to become passionate young adults interested in the world around them. I have been doing substitute teaching within San Francisco for a few months now, and enjoy my time spent in the classroom immensely. I think one on one time with a student would help strengthen my teaching and communication skills even more!
Why should a student pick you?
- I always give my all to the job I have set out to do. I think every individual has potential to grow and become more intelligent. My work as a substitute teacher and previous tutoring experience have allowed me to develop study techniques that can be adapted to a student's individual characteristics and school environment. On top of all this, I love meeting new people and my friendly attitude allows me to engage students on a more comfortable, less authoritative level then they may feel with one of their regular teachers.
Personal Statement:
- Teaching has been a passion of mine for a long time now. I was fortunate enough to receive a great education and strong family support through my years of general education and college. I think all children deserve the level of support I received, but I know that it is very difficult, particularly if the child comes from a low income family, to receive that support. I love helping kids and want them to learn as I did. I think that is what matters most!
Any Last Words?
- Great minds shouldn't be wasted.
